About Ramadan 2026

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and the holiest month for Muslims worldwide. During this month, observing Muslims fast from dawn (Sehri) until sunset (Iftar), abstaining from food, drink and other physical needs as an act of worship, self-discipline and spiritual reflection.

In Pakistan, Ramadan is marked by a strong sense of community and devotion. Families wake before dawn for Sehri, mosques fill for Taraweeh prayers, and streets come alive with Iftar gatherings. Markets stay open late as people prepare for Eid-ul-Fitr, the festival that marks the end of the fasting month.

The exact start and end of Ramadan depend on the sighting of the crescent moon, which is officially confirmed by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Pakistan. The timings listed above are calculated estimates and may vary slightly by location and method of calculation.
